Teacher of English

 

Sir Harry Smith Community College is looking to appoint an English Teacher to join our forward thinking, dynamic school that provides high quality learning and Teaching.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of English on a permanent contract from September 2024 or sooner for the right candidate. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner, able to deliver English at all key stages. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs and can offer excellent professional development, guidance, and support.

 The successful candidates will have: 

  • An excellent track record of raising attainment
  • Proven ability and enthusiasm to motivate students and staff
  • The ability to support and raise the expectations and aspirations of students of all abilities
  • A desire to share experiences and good practice with colleagues

Sir Harry Smith Community College is an 11-18 Academy, proud of its traditional values and innovative approaches to Teaching and Learning and its standards of discipline and respect. It is a calm and safe place, where staff and students work hard, achieve a great deal, and enjoy excellent working relationships. The College serves the market town of Whittlesey, seven miles outside of Peterborough in Cambridgeshire. The College is part of the Aspire Learning Trust working together with Park Lane and New Road Primary Schools, also in Whittlesey, to help every child achieve their full potential, to prepare them for their next educational steps, to teach them kindness and respect for all and to equip them to play a full satisfying role in society.
