Referral for Term Time Leave

Family holidays are no longer allowed to be taken during school term time.  Families who take their children out of school for holidays without permission may be fined.  However, there are situations where the Principal may use discretion to authorise the absence in exceptional circumstances.

A parent must complete a term time only request form and submit this to SHSCC Reception.  The request will be considered and you will receive a reply.

Please note, any parent who takes a child out of school for term time leave for 6 consecutive sessions (3 days) or more, not authorised by the school (under exceptional circumstances rule), may receive a Penalty Notice.

In addition, schools may also request prosecution, in exceptional circumstances where a parent takes a child out of school during term time for an extended period (20 days or more)
