    Clerk to the Governing Body

    The College is looking to recruit a Clerk to the Governing Body to commence as soon as possible, but to be in post by the start of the academic year September 2019.  The Clerk is primarily responsible for the smooth and efficient running of evening Governor meetings and will work closely with the Chair of Governors and the Principal to provide assistance and support and will be closely involved in monitoring the compliance with various legislative and regulatory requirements affecting the College and its activities.

    The post holder will provide full administration duties and support to the Governors in organising and attending meetings, producing accurate and concise minutes and to keep up-to-date with current, necessary legislations.  To meet the requirements of the College, the role will include evening meetings and will be approximately 50 hours throughout the school year.  Salary commences at £11.88 per hour, to be by-claimed on a monthly basis. 

    Sir Harry Smith Community College is an 11-18 Academy, proud of its traditional values and innovative approaches to Teaching and Learning and its standards of discipline and respect.  The College serves the market town of Whittlesey, seven miles outside of Peterborough in Cambridgeshire and is part of the Aspire Learning Trust working together with Park Lane and New Road Primary Schools, also in Whittlesey, to help every child achieve their full potential, to prepare them for their next educational steps, to teach them kindness and respect for all and to equip them to play a full satisfying role in society.  The successful applicant will require a cleared Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
